"We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love."

Matching socks?!?

Why matching socks? Well from the beginning one thing Arah and I have always had in common is that neither of us are big fans of wearing socks that go together. our sock combinations can get pretty creative, argyles, neons, stripes, polka dots. I thought I could totally go into some deeper meaning about how sometimes things that don't go together make the best match and how we are going to spend our lives together and doing laundry requires folding socks, I was going to make it so philosophical and deep....

but the simple truth is....

It's just more fun to wear socks that don't match!

Our Adventures

Amberly and I sure love to get out and explore new places. I feel like any time we are together we are up to something new or are on a new adventure. Trust me, with someone as incredible and hilarious as Amberly there is never a dull moment! But recently we were able to adventure off to one of my most favorite places on the planet. Blanding Utah. I know what you're thinking... If its not where in the heck is that, its why on Earth would that be one of his most favorite places on the planet?
Well let me tell you. Blanding may be a small, podunk town with very few residents, no street lights, not even a Walmart with an hour and a half but it is one of the most adventure filled places on the planet. You should hear the stories that my Grandfather can tell about his childhood. It puts every experience that I have ever had to shame. My Grandfather had a more exciting life by the time he was ten than I have even had in my 22 years of living. I always remember as a boy being captivated about him telling us about Corncob Hollow and all of the Indian ruins that he found as a kid. I imagine all of that excitement and love for adventure has stuck with me all growing up.
But I was so happy to be able to take Amberly along with my little sister, Morgan, down to Blanding so I could show her one of my most favorite places on the planet. On the first day we were lucky enough to head out on the ATV's and kick up some dirt. One of the best parts of that excursion was being able to find two horny toads and catch them! They are pretty awesome little guys. We wanted to bring them back to my grandpa's place so they could help with all the ants running around the outside.
We also were able to goa little treasure hunting. We were after 1950 coke bottles buried in trash piles from the large hunting camps they had back in the 50's. We were even crossing our fingers hoping that we would have the luck to find an old 1950's silver dollar. But unfortunately we only unearthed bottle caps and old wire. But it was still fun to get out and use the metal detector and have a whole time of locators, excavators and dirt sifters.
We also got to go to the brand new blanding pool and then that evening have a fantastic cook off. We got to eat some fantastic food and stuffed. Amberly and I also got some really pictures taken that we may or may not end up using for some of our engagements. They were just kind of fun to do and of course just to show everyone how me we love each other. Which is A LOT if you were wondering. But that was a quick overview of our little weekend adventure in Blanding Utah.
